It's Just Time


Blogging became a hobby for me a few years ago.  I have learned so much, mostly from trial and lots of errors.  After chatting with fellow bloggers, asking for their advice on software and such, it's just time for a fresh start.  Here we are, beginning again more intelligently.


My old blog, Stone Cottage Adventures, will remain active for now.  Some of my old content will be moving here.  At some point the old girl will go quiet.  The timing for that has not yet been decided.  All new photos and articles will make their debuts on this site.

My goal is to take my time with posts, especially editing and photography, forcing nothing.  I enjoy sharing my love of books, gardening, and being with my family.  When my personal Facebook account was hijacked and all my pictures were lost, it was wonderful to have so many photos saved on my old blog.  When I get confused about recipes, I check Stone Cottage Adventures for how it's been done in the past.  That documentation can be a lifesaver, or a least a flavor saver.  ;-)  

As always, I am open to your suggestions and advice on this scary, new journey.

Have you ever been enjoying a nice, quiet day of crafting, then BAM your jar of ModPodge falls off the table, splatters across the floor, and onto one of your favorite toss blankets?  Well, that happened to me right in the middle of this project.  Talk about a big, sticky mess!  Not to worry, though.  We have hardwood floors.  First, a dish towel was used to mop up most of the glops.  I had the thought to use rug cleaner on the afghan and also sprayed foam across the glue swirls on my floor.  The toss blanket made a round in my washing machine and came out unscathed.  A quick wet mop restored my hardwood floors.  Now, back to my nice quiet day of crafting.

Friendsmas Fizzy Soaking Salts

Friendsmas celebrations are such a wonderful way to spend an evening with girlfriends!  The plan for this year's party, besides snacks, is for each person to bring a $10 gift and we will swap.  It's nice to have a small something for everyone, though, so this is what I'm adding to the mix. Growing a Garden Gnome

Participating in craft challenges is just that.  A challenge!  I love how each one helps me think in different ways and pulls me out of any ruts I might be experiencing.  This one is all about sustainability.  For me that means:  Minimize purchases.  Upcycle wherever possible.  This time, I even grew something from seed!
