December Harvest

Most of my little vegetable patch is napping.  Like busy toddlers, though, there are a few still awake in December.

These are Scarlet Nantez carrot tops.  I've been looking at recipes for carrot top pesto.  Do you have any suggestions?

There is still plenty of garlic!

Lots of radishes continue to grow.  The little red ones are my favorite.  These seeds are Early Scarlet Globe radish.

This handsome plant is Raggedy Jack Kale.  What a spectacular color combo!  I planted it on the shadier end of my garden in early Spring and was pleased with an entire season of production.  'Definitely planting this performer again.  What are your favorite recipes for kale?

Harvesting any time of year is so gratifying, but it feels like a special treat to have something in December!  What's growing where you are?
