Nightshade

by Susan Wittig Albert

This one was a pretty tough read for a China Bayles mystery.  It is as fast paced as the others I've read in this series, which I love, but Nightshade is dealing with the deaths of two of her family members.  People who have been close friends of her parents her entire life have, painfully, now become suspects.  All kinds of skeletons are coming out of their closets.  Our normally objective heroine struggles to keep her emotions in check.  Handsome and rugged Mike McQuaid, China's husband, is central to these investigations.  He is able to track down and inspect the Cadillac her father was driving at the time of his death along with other clues.  When the story line takes its final twist, the person responsible is the last person you might have expected.  This one was a sad reckoning.
