Spanish Dagger

The China Bayles Murder Mysteries recently crossed by radar and are currently being devoured about as quickly as the delivery trucks can get them here.   For Spanish Dagger the author has the setting in her fictional town of Pecan Springs, Texas.  I have grown fond of the eclectic personalities in that gossipy little community.  Most of the crimes in this series turn out to be something personal.  There is a character in this book, though, that feels pretty darn creepy and out of control.  Like this person is capable of violence against anyone nearby.  China and her friends have to move quickly and call in all the forces to solve the mystery.

Have you ever been enjoying a nice, quiet day of crafting, then BAM your jar of ModPodge falls off the table, splatters across the floor, and onto one of your favorite toss blankets?  Well, that happened to me right in the middle of this project.  Talk about a big, sticky mess!  Not to worry, though.  We have hardwood floors.  First, a dish towel was used to mop up most of the glops.  I had the thought to use rug cleaner on the afghan and also sprayed foam across the glue swirls on my floor.  The toss blanket made a round in my washing machine and came out unscathed.  A quick wet mop restored my hardwood floors.  Now, back to my nice quiet day of crafting.

Friendsmas celebrations are such a wonderful way to spend an evening with girlfriends!  The plan for this year's party, besides snacks, is for each person to bring a $10 gift and we will swap.  It's nice to have a small something for everyone, though, so this is what I'm adding to the mix. Growing a Garden Gnome

Participating in craft challenges is just that.  A challenge!  I love how each one helps me think in different ways and pulls me out of any ruts I might be experiencing.  This one is all about sustainability.  For me that means:  Minimize purchases.  Upcycle wherever possible.  This time, I even grew something from seed!
