Hollyhocks wearing Maroon

Last year, a packet of mixed Hollyhock seeds was planted.

They are biennial, meaning they bloom on alternating years.  Anyone wishing to see hollyhocks every year, would want to plant them two years in row.

This particular color is a big hit with my high school classmates, as the colors for our alma mater are maroon and white!

Aren't they exquisite?!

Not just pretty faces, hollyhocks are a wonderful source of nectar for pollinators.

What's growing in your garden?
